TL;DR
Percentage of units that pass every required inspection without rework on the first attempt. The honest measure of process capability — RTY is the multi-step rollup.
First Pass Yield = (units that passed all inspections first time) / (units started). Rolled Throughput Yield (RTY) is the product of FPY across all process steps. Both expose the rework hidden by traditional yield (which only counts final-pass units regardless of how many times they cycled).
