How fast does V5 react to a new SVHC candidate list?
ECHA typically updates the candidate list twice a year (June and January). V5 ingests the update the day it's published, re-screens every substance and mixture in the tenant, and flags impacted articles, formulas, SDS files and downstream customer communications — usually inside an hour of ECHA publication.
Which languages does the SDS engine support?
All 24 EU official languages plus Icelandic, Norwegian and Turkish for EEA/customs union coverage. Section text is generated from a phrase library aligned to Annex II of REACH (as amended by Commission Regulation (EU) 2020/878) so hazard and precautionary statements are consistent across languages.
How does V5 handle UFI generation?
The Unique Formula Identifier is generated per the ECHA UFI Generator specification — company VAT (or ECHA-assigned company key) plus formulation number, checksum-protected. When formulation composition changes beyond the tolerances in the PCN guidance, the UFI is regenerated and a resubmission is triggered.
Do we still need IUCLID?
V5 exports IUCLID-compliant dossiers for PCN and SCIP submission through the ECHA portals. For registration dossiers under REACH, IUCLID remains the ECHA-mandated tool — V5 exports the CSR-relevant substance data into IUCLID rather than replacing it.
