BRCGS software with Issue 9 fundamentals evidenced — for the AA+ grade you actually want.
BRCGS Food Safety Issue 9 fundamental requirements, HACCP, food safety and quality management, site standards, product control, process control and personnel — all evidenced as live workflow. Built to hold up under the unannounced-audit option and to push your grade toward AA / AA+ instead of a downgrade you spend six months recovering from.
You're shopping for BRCGS software because Issue 9 tightened the fundamentals and one downgraded grade will cost you a contract.
Fundamental clauses aren't linked to live records
HACCP and quality management live in separate systems
Site standards inspections (glass / brittle plastic, pest, cleaning) are paper walkarounds
Product control (allergen, foreign body, packaging) evidence is scattered
Unannounced audit prep is a fire drill every 12 months
Non-conformance corrective actions from last audit aren't verified closed
BRCGS Issue 9, structured the way the standard is written.
Fundamental clauses tracked live
The ten fundamental requirements — senior management commitment, HACCP, internal audit, supplier approval, corrective and preventive action, traceability, layout / product flow / segregation, cleaning and hygiene, training, foreign-body management — are dashboards, not paragraphs in a binder.
HACCP + food safety plan
Full HACCP engine — hazard analysis, CCP monitoring, verification, validation — as the foundation for section 2 of Issue 9.
Site standards + hygiene
Glass and brittle plastic register, pest control program, cleaning and disinfection schedules with verification (ATP, visual, allergen swab) — all live, all evidenced.
Product + process control
Allergen control matrix, foreign-body management (metal, X-ray, sieve, filter, magnet checks), packaging control and process capability records tied to the batch.
Personnel + training
Training matrix, competency verification, PPE and hygiene compliance, visitor and contractor control — all traced.
Traceability + recall drill
Lot-level one-up / one-back with sub-hour mock-recall performance — comfortably inside BRCGS expectations.
What changes when BRCGS is one live system.
- Unannounced-audit option becomes low-risk — evidence is always current
- Fundamental-clause non-conformances stop appearing at audit
- Grade trajectory moves toward AA / AA+ rather than a downgrade
- Last audit's corrective actions are verified closed with signed records
- Site standards (glass, pest, hygiene) evidence is captured on the round
- Same evidence base serves BRCGS today, SQF or FSSC 22000 tomorrow
Every section a BRCGS auditor will score.
BRCGS Food Safety Issue 9 — Section 1
Senior management commitment and continual improvement — evidenced through management review, KPIs and CAPA closure.
Sections 2–4 (HACCP · FSQMS · Site Standards)
HACCP, food safety and quality management system, and site standards with live records replacing binder pages.
Sections 5–7 (Product · Process · Personnel)
Product control (design, allergen, foreign body, packaging), process control (documented, monitored, released) and personnel (training, hygiene, PPE) all evidenced through platform behaviour.
Section 8 (High Care / High Risk)
Where applicable, high-care and high-risk zone controls — layout, segregation, hygiene practices, environmental monitoring — supported natively.
Section 9 (Traded Products)
For sites that also trade product not manufactured on-site, the additional supplier and traceability controls Issue 9 requires.
GFSI benchmark
BRCGS Issue 9 is GFSI-benchmarked. Same evidence base holds up if a customer switches acceptable schemes.
BRCGS software, answered.
What is BRCGS software?
BRCGS software is the platform that operationalises the BRCGS Food Safety standard — currently Issue 9 — with fundamental clauses, HACCP, site standards, product control, process control, personnel and traceability all evidenced as live workflow. It replaces the per-section binder and the pre-audit fire drill with a state where the auditor can pull evidence for any clause on demand.
Does V5 support the unannounced audit option?
Yes. Because evidence is captured continuously rather than assembled at audit time, sites electing the unannounced option find the platform performs the same on any given day. That's the difference between chasing an A grade and holding AA / AA+.
How does V5 handle the ten fundamental clauses?
Each fundamental clause has its own live evidence surface — dashboards, not binder chapters. A single dropped fundamental means an unannounced re-audit; the platform is engineered to prevent that.
Can we run BRCGS and SQF or FSSC together?
Yes. Different customers require different GFSI schemes. V5's evidence base is scheme-agnostic — a BRCGS-certified site can add SQF Edition 9 or FSSC 22000 v6 with a fraction of the incremental effort because HACCP, allergen, sanitation, traceability and supplier evidence is shared.
Does V5 support High Care / High Risk zones?
Yes. Section 8 controls — layout, segregation, hygiene practice, environmental monitoring — are modeled with the zone-aware access, movement and cleaning records the standard requires.
How long does implementation take?
Most BRCGS sites reach an Issue-9-ready state within 10–14 weeks. Sites currently graded B or C typically move toward A / AA at their next audit once fundamentals are evidenced live rather than reconstructed.
