Does using AI break 21 CFR Part 11 compliance?
Not by itself, provided the AI never signs. Part 11 requires an identifiable person to apply each electronic signature. In V5, AI can draft deviation investigations, suggest CAPA and summarise records, but an authorised person reviews the output before relying on it, and signatures and approvals stay with people through V5's existing controls.
The risk with AI is decisions, not drafting. In V5, AI never signs a record, approves, or releases a batch or lot, and existing permissions, signatures and change controls still apply. Your procedures define who reviews AI output and how that review is recorded.
