ISA-88 (S88) gives batch processing a portable structure: General/Site recipes hold equipment-independent product knowledge, Master recipes adapt them to a specific equipment train, and Control recipes drive a single batch execution. The model maps cleanly to MMR/BMR concepts and is the foundation of modular batch automation.
V5 models recipes as ISA-88 objects so the same product knowledge moves between sites and equipment trains with minimal rework — and the BMR generated downstream still reads as one continuous record.
