The UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising and Direct & Promotional Marketing (CAP Code), enforced by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), governs claim wording for supplements in the UK. Section 15 (Food, food supplements and associated health or nutrition claims) requires that any health claim already be authorised under the GB Nutrition & Health Claims Register (the post-Brexit successor to Regulation (EC) 1924/2006). Unauthorised disease claims are referred to MHRA as borderline medicines; misleading nutrition claims are ASA-actioned with public adjudication.
