Availability × Performance × Quality
OEE calculated from recorded production and stops.
See OEE from your recorded runs and stops, with losses linked to their reasons.
Availability from real stop events
Every stop is captured with start, end, asset and reason code — planned downtime reported separately, never hidden inside the number.
Performance Against Nameplate Rate
Actual cycle rate is compared to the rated speed per product, so micro-stops and speed losses surface instead of averaging away.
Quality from the Batch Record
Good units versus total units come from the same in-process and release results QA already signs, and scrap is traced to root cause.
What goes wrong today3 common problems
OEE is calculated after the fact
Numbers assembled from paper logs a week later cannot drive a shift meeting or an improvement decision.
Every Plant Defines OEE Differently
When planned downtime is quietly excluded and micro-stops are ignored, the number looks great and means nothing.
Losses have no root cause attached
You know the line lost four hours. You do not know to which asset, product, changeover or operator.

Common questions5 answers
- How is OEE calculated?
- OEE is availability multiplied by performance multiplied by quality. Availability is run time divided by planned production time, performance is actual output divided by output at rated speed, and quality is good units divided by total units.
- Does V5 hide planned downtime?
- No. Planned downtime is excluded from availability by definition but reported alongside OEE so total asset utilisation stays visible.
- Where does the data come from?
- From execution: scans, weights, counts, stop events and in-process results captured as the line runs, plus device signals where a PLC or scale is connected through the device bridge.
- Can we see OEE by shift and product?
- Yes. Every event carries line, asset, product, order and shift, so OEE can be sliced any of those ways and drilled into event level.
- Does it follow ISO 22400?
- KPI definitions follow ISO 22400 terminology so figures are comparable across sites and with external benchmarks.
