Old MES treats hardware as a special-case integration project. V5 treats it as a paired user — a device signs in, gets a role, and starts streaming. Scales push tare/gross. Scanners push barcodes straight into the active prompt. Printers receive ZPL with the batch's actual variables, not a generic template.

PLC · SCADA · Historian

Rockwell FactoryTalk and GE Proficy, without a driver project.

V5 connects to the controls stack you already run. OPC-UA is the default road; native bridges exist for the common Rockwell and GE estates. Tags are read-only by default and only become read-write when a recipe step requires it — every write is signed, timestamped, and pinned to the batch record.

Read-only by default
V5 subscribes to tags. Writes are off until a recipe step explicitly asks for one — and every write is e-signed.
Tags bind to prompts
A weigh-tank level, a jacket temp, a CIP conductivity reading flows straight into the active step and gets pinned to the batch record.
Historian backfill
When a batch closes, V5 pulls the trend window from FactoryTalk or Proficy Historian and attaches it to the eBR — no manual export.
What you don't need: no per-PLC driver project, no agent on the PLC, no Kepware required (though we'll happily sit behind one if it's already on site). If your plant is already running FactoryTalk Linx or a Proficy OPC-UA endpoint, V5 is talking to it the same afternoon.
