Skills matrixthe grid plant managers actually want to see.
Training certificates per person are necessary but not sufficient. The plant manager wants the grid: rows of operators, columns of competencies, cell = trained / in-training / expiring / not authorised. V5 builds that grid from the same training records that drive kiosk hard-gating — so the matrix and the floor enforcement are guaranteed to agree.
What changes once Skills matrix is live.
Indicative ranges from V5 pilot deployments. Your numbers will land near these once the workflow is operator-led and e-signed at the step.
What changes the day you switch this on.
- Operators jump between paper SOPs, scales and a back-office PC.
- Manual, paper-driven, and only audited after the fact.
- Tribal knowledge in spreadsheets and shared drives.
- Errors caught at month-end — too late to fix the batch.
- Operators × competencies grid
- Expiring-soon visibility
- Drives kiosk authorisation
- Substitute-finder
What you actually get
Operator-led, e-signed, immutable. Engineered for regulated manufacturers — not retrofitted.
Operators × competencies grid
Rows are operators, columns are competencies (line role, equipment, SOP). Cell colour shows current status at a glance.
Expiring-soon visibility
Cells turn amber 30 days before expiry, red on expiry. The plant manager spots coverage gaps before the shift loses a qualified operator.
Drives kiosk authorisation
The same grid that the manager reads is the gate the kiosk enforces — no risk of 'paper says yes, kiosk says no' drift.
Substitute-finder
Pick a competency; V5 lists every operator currently authorised, with their shift and other assignments — so the supervisor can re-balance the schedule.
One operator action — a complete, signed record.
What it leaves behind
- Grid and kiosk enforcement read the same records
- 30-day expiry warning per cell
- Substitute-finder per competency
- Exportable per ISO 13485 §6.2 personnel records
