V5 Ultimate vs Intelex
V5 Ultimate vs Intelex
Intelex (a Fortive company) is a broad EHSQ platform — environment, health, safety and quality applications running on a single configurable platform, popular with large manufacturers across chemicals, food, energy and discrete manufacturing. V5 Ultimate is a regime-aware MES + WMS + QMS for regulated manufacturers. This page is the honest version of where Intelex is the right answer and where V5 is.

What each product actually is
Intelex is an enterprise EHSQ platform — incident management, safety observations, environmental compliance, audits, CAPA, document control, supplier management, all on a configurable workflow engine. V5 Ultimate is a unified MES + WMS + QMS: the QMS is wired directly to production execution. If your priority is enterprise EHS plus a configurable quality layer across many sites, Intelex is genuinely strong. If your priority is regulated-manufacturing execution and the QMS that comes with it, V5 fits better.
Breadth vs depth
Intelex's breadth is its strength — one platform for EHS, sustainability metrics and quality, with deep configurability per site. The trade-off is that quality workflows are generic and adapted per customer; regulated-mfg specifics (Part 11 e-sig binding, Annex 11 audit-trail review cadence, GAMP 5 categorisation evidence) need configuration and validation effort. V5 ships those as defaults with a CSA-aligned validation pack.
Execution on the floor
Intelex does not run the floor — production execution lives in your ERP / MES / paper. V5 is operator-first: kiosk + handheld UX, scale streaming, scanner-driven weigh-out, gated e-sigs, two-person dispense, label printing at the station. The batch record self-builds as the operator works. Single-system buyers replace paper BMRs or a separate MES at the same time as the QMS purchase.
Deployment and validation
Intelex is cloud-hosted on its multi-tenant platform with enterprise integration services. V5 ships as Lovable Cloud (multi-tenant Postgres with row-level isolation) and V5 Ultimate On-Premises (containerised, air-gap capable, customer-owned keys). On-prem matters for radiopharma, defence and certain blood/tissue customers. V5's validation pack is pre-built for Part 11 / Annex 11 controls.
EHS vs regulated manufacturing
If your binding regulatory pressure is EPA, OSHA, ISO 14001 / 45001 and sustainability reporting, Intelex is built for that. If your binding pressure is FDA (21 CFR 211 / 820 / 117 / 1271), EU MDR / GMP, BRCGS, SQF, ISO 13485, MoCRA, FSMA 204 — and the audit you fear most is a Form 483 — V5 is built for that. There's overlap in document control and CAPA, but the centre of gravity is different.
Pricing model
Intelex is enterprise sales-led, modular licensing per application per site. V5 publishes per-user / month for Cloud and an annual term licence for On-Premises, with a free trial and no minimum seat count for self-serve evaluation.
Where Intelex is the better fit
Large enterprises whose primary driver is EHS + sustainability + a configurable quality layer across many sites, organisations that need ESG / GRI reporting at the platform level, or buyers who specifically want Fortive's enterprise reference base.
Where V5 Ultimate is the better fit
Regulated manufacturers (pharma, device, food, cosmetics, cannabis, supplements) whose primary driver is FDA / EU GMP / BRCGS / MDR audit readiness, single-system buyers who want eQMS + MES + WMS on one validated platform, on-prem / air-gap requirements, or teams replacing paper BMRs.

Frequently asked
Can V5 Ultimate cover EHS the way Intelex does?
V5 covers incident reporting, deviation, CAPA, audit, change control and the document / training infrastructure those depend on — sufficient for the EHS work that intersects regulated manufacturing. For deep environmental compliance, sustainability reporting and OSHA-centric programmes across many non-regulated sites, Intelex remains the better fit.
We're a chemicals manufacturer — which one?
If your primary pressure is REACH / TSCA / RC14001 and EHS reporting, Intelex. If your primary pressure is production execution, batch records, GMP / Part 11 for API or formulation work, V5. Many chemical sites run both — V5 for execution + quality on the regulated lines, Intelex for enterprise EHS.
Can V5 integrate with Intelex?
Yes — V5 publishes a REST + webhook API and most customers running both push events (incidents, deviations, supplier nonconformances) from V5 to Intelex for enterprise EHS aggregation.
