GS1's 18-digit unique pallet ID — one SSCC per outbound pallet for EDI 856 ASN.
A Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC) is an 18-digit GS1 identifier assigned to a single shipping unit (pallet, container). When a retailer requires EDI 856 Advance Ship Notice (ASN), they expect one SSCC per pallet, scannable via GS1-128. V5 issues SSCCs on outbound pallet build.
