MRP
Material Requirements Planning · material requirements planning · mrp software
The classic planning engine that explodes demand through a multi-level BOM, nets against on-hand and in-transit inventory, and produces time-phased planned POs and work orders. In V5, lot-, expiry- and hold-aware, and continuously re-tuned by AI on real floor consumption.
Material Requirements Planning (MRP) is the planning algorithm that takes demand (forecasts + firm sales orders + safety stock) and explodes it through every level of the Bill of Materials, then nets the gross requirement against on-hand inventory, in-transit POs, open work orders, and reserved stock. The output is a time-phased schedule of planned purchase orders, planned production orders, and reschedule / cancel messages for existing orders.
The weakness of traditional ERP-bolted-on MRP is that it plans against whatever inventory the system thinks it has, with whatever lead times and yields someone keyed in at go-live. V5 Ultimate runs MRP on the same database as the kiosk, lots, calibration, and eBR — so the plan is built from real consumption, real yields, real scrap, real substitutions, and real holds. AI watches every batch close and nudges lead times, safety stock and reorder points before the next MRP run.
V5's MRP is lot-, expiry- and hold-aware: it cannot plan against a quarantined, expired or out-of-spec lot. It is included on every plan (Express, Professional, Enterprise) — not gated as a premium module.
