MRP II (Manufacturing Resource Planning, Oliver Wight, 1980s) extends classic material-only MRP with finite-capacity scheduling, labour and tooling loading, master production schedule, rough-cut and detailed capacity planning, and a feedback loop back to finance (standard cost, variance, working-capital impact).

V5 covers MRP II natively: the same engine that nets material also loads work centres, respects calibration / qualification / cleanliness / changeover constraints, costs the resulting plan against standard, and feeds variance back to the finance side of the ERP integration. The plan is therefore executable, not aspirational.

How V5 handles it
Production — the MMR is locked, the BMR fills itself in.
On work-order release, V5 snapshots the approved master formula into the WO so the batch record is, in the regulator’s words, an “accurate reproduction” of the master. Operators then walk the steps; the BMR writes itself.
