Weigh and Dispense
w&d · central weigh
The controlled pre-weighing of raw materials into kits per the approved formula, with verified scales, e-signatures, and lot reservation against the work order.
Weigh and Dispense (W&D) is the GMP-critical step that converts released raw-material lots into kits matched to a specific work order. Controls include scale calibration check, tare/gross/net verification, second-person witnessing or barcode verification, and immediate consumption against lot inventory. Errors at W&D propagate forward into every downstream step.
V5 enforces W&D at the kiosk: the operator can only dispense released lots, the scale tolerance must be live, e-signatures and lot consumption are written atomically, and overdispense paths trigger automatic deviation routing.
